New Barbuda Community Centre Opens

The new Barbuda community centre was opened in a grand ceremony attended by the Governor General Dame Louise Lake-Tack, the Prime Minister the Hon Baldwin Spencer, the Chinese Ambassador to Antigua and other distinguished members of the community. The Prime Minister, Baldwin Spencer, advised Barbudans "to use the centre wisely in the process of developing a strong and deep society in Barbuda", and thanked the people of the Republic of China.

The ceremony was attended by a large crowd. The Rev Patrick Thomas, of the Wesleyan Holiness Church gave the invocation and the centre was blessed by Rev Judith Archibald of the Holy Trinity Church. There seemed to be much celebration and happiness as people toured the building which has been needed for so long in Barbuda.

We like this...

Now, it's been too long.
Too long, too long in slavery.
Free the people and let them move in liberty
Now, it's been too long.
Too long, too long in slavery.
So the struggle continue.
But while the struggle continue, I'm going to tell you.
We rastaman will set the world free...
