SUBSCRIBE TO BARBUDAFUL
We do not take any advertising on our site but if you have a link to Barbuda, you are welcome to list your local business here. Subscriptions run from January to December each year. If you do not contact us to renew your subscription in January we will assume you no longer want to be on the site and your entry details will be removed, but we will remind you in January before we remove it. The subscription service includes promoting your business on barbudaful social media via facebook/instagram; sharing your information with local and international directories, travel guides and news agencies who ask us for updates or recommendations on Barbuda, responding to enquiries and forwarding them to you, and listing your entry on www.barbudaful.net.
WHY SUBSCRIBE?
We started this before Facebook (I know…!) and are still the only website that features just the island of Barbuda. Our analytics show us we are reaching over 170 countries out of 195 in the world. We know that 99% of people who come to Barbuda have first looked for and then found information they need on here. We get lots of e mails and we answer them all, and our visitors give us great feedback when we meet them.
WE ARE CONSISTENTLY ON THE FIRST PAGE OF GOOGLE
and we are regularly listed (and visited) by writers and journalists updating information about Barbuda and our place in the Caribbean; including tourism publications Conde Nast Traveller, Footprint, Lonely Planet, Superyachts Guide and the various Antigua and Barbuda guides. We are often referenced in the international media when they write about Antigua and Barbuda and we always follow them up if they miss us out.
WE KNOW THAT BARBUDAN BUSINESSES BENEFIT FROM A WEBSITE LIKE THIS
as more visitors engage with the community directly, using the site to look for locally-owned accommodation, our amazing food produce, tours where you meet the real experts, how to find our beautiful beaches, shops to buy groceries and things to do – always looking before they come and often while they are still here.
WE WRITE THIS
for Barbudans living overseas (especially those of Barbudan descent who have yet to visit) our Caribbean neighbours in Antigua and further afield, and visitors and travellers around the world who have never been to Barbuda but want to come one day. We try to post accurate, up to date information and positive images of the island and we believe in self-determination and sustainable progress, so we speak out against negative views of Barbuda and our community, and we are definitely not in favour of destructive over-development and unscrupulous developers.
WE HAVE CREDENTIALS
In the past the Huffington Post have featured Barbuda with all their links going to this website, and Virgin Atlantic contacted us to participate in filming their in-flight video here on Barbuda. Following Hurricane Irma this website was of special interest to the rest of the world (although every one of us represented here was gone overnight) and so we contributed to the island receiving much needed media attention and compassionate international support.
