Rose Brooks' Authentic Barbudan Souvenirs is a veritable treasure trove of items for visitors and Barbudans alike. T-shirts, sarongs, dresses, and shirts, sandals and hats to take you from the beach to an evening spent "on the town". Put your necessities in one of her straw or woven baskets and bags and keep her pretty earrings and necklaces in one of those carved wooden jewellery boxes. The Family Bakery

The Family Bakery bakes fresh bread daily with buns and cakes and at weekends has garlic bread. The bakery offers a seafood breakfast from Monday to Saturday. The bakery is open from 5 am to noon daily, except for Sunday when they are closed. The Beazer family also has a restaurant and a hairdressers. Burton's Supermarket and Drinks Depot

Eric Burton's supermarket is located in the centre of Codrington Village at Madison Square. The manager, Debbie Joseph, stocks a wide range of goods from food, to household items, and toiletries. Debbie offers an extensive selection of meat from chicken breasts to steak. They feature special items including olive oil, a variety of Italian pastas, and Mozzarella cheese.

The fresh produce is imported twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The drinks depot offers water, sodas and fruit juices, together with American, Caribbean, and European beers and lager, rum, brandy, vodka, and various liqueurs. Debbie has American, French, Italian, Spanish, African, and Chilean wines. All goods can be purchased wholesale and special orders, including lobsters for export, will be prepared with advance notice. The supermarket and drinks depot is open from 6.30 am daily and closes on Mondays to Thursdays at 10 pm, on Fridays and Saturdays at midnight, and on Sundays Debbie closes at 10.30 pm.

Thomas' Grocery

Canute Thomas offers tinned and dry goods, fresh fruit and vegetables, and bread in his grocery store in an old traditional building near the centre of the village. In the yard is a small bar, where Canute Thomas sells alcohol and sodas - a popular place for Barbudans to play cards and dominoes. Lilrose and Lincoln Burton's supermarket sells fresh fruit and vegetables, dry goods, bread, rolls, and pastries, frozen food, poultry and meat, including steak and pork chops. Lilrose has Italian pastas, olive oil, and Mozzarella cheese. Lilrose offers a range of fruit juices and soda. Water can be bought wholesale by the case and she stocks animal feed, specialising in horse food. Fresh supplies come in every Wednesday and Friday throughout the year. Nedd's Supermarket

Mcarthur and Natalie Nedd have a supermarket selling groceries, and fresh fruit and vegetables. They sell Caribbean produce of sweet potatoes and yams as well as many other items including tea bags, cereal, juice, and toiletries. Shea Punter's Barber's Paradise caters for the men of Barbuda - whatever the style Shea can cut it for his customers. The shop has been open for about eight years, but Shea has been cutting hair since he was tiny; before he started school in fact. Opening hours are flexible, but generally the Barber's Paradise is open on Thursdays any time, Fridays from 1 pm, and Sundays from noon.

Madison Square's new ice cream parlour is a hit with everyone. You're sure to find your favourite amongst the many flavours including vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, pistachio, coconut, and coffee. Three enterprising business people, John Webber, Polen Handy, and Orlando Morris have revolutionised international communications in Barbuda with the opening of the island's first internet café. On offer is internet access, email, and faxing for Barbudans and visitors to stay in touch with loved ones and business colleagues. CD burning facilities allow transfer of holiday photos to free up your memory card and to record that rap or calypso tune, which will always remind you of Barbuda. Other services include design, typing, and printing of documents, letterheads and business cards, laminating, scanning, photocopying, and computer repairs. The centre has classes for adults in the popular software applications, eg Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Internet Explorer, and Outlook Express. Special classes are held for children from 6 years old. BITC tutors run classes for the Barbuda Institute of Education.

As well as offering a cheap way of connecting with friends and family, BITC can provide insurance as agents for First Domestic Insurance, based in Antigua. Policies are available for all needs, including houses, vehicles, and marine items.

Situated on the road to Two Foot Bay, Eda's Mall has a range of hardware and clothing. The hardware department has everything you need for the household with tools and kitchenware.
