Ordrick Samuel, also know as Jicky or Montgomery, operates the MRS Radio Station from his home. He broadcasts from speakers on his roof on Monday to Saturday at 6.30 am to 7.15 am and when necessary in the afternoon. He provides Barbudans with general news, village information, notices, and birthdays. Every Tuesday morning Elder Mills broadcasts religious thoughts and music. Every Friday morning Pastor Ralph Payton of the Seventh Day Adventist Church advises on marriage education. MRS Radio also features guest DJs. Jicky can be contacted on 460 0087 within Antigua and Barbuda.

I must apologise to all visitors for the lack of updates over the last few months. I have been extremely busy as a teacher at the new Sir McChesney George Secondary School. I plan to put up lots of news and a new profile during the coming school vacation, which begins on 12 December 2005. Please keep visiting the site in the meantime...

The new secondary school was handed over in a special ceremony. Ministry officials, Barbuda Councillors, teachers, students, parents, and members of the community attended the ceremony.
School students returned to the Holy Trinity School for the academic year 2005 to 2006. Teachers returned on Monday 29 August.
The Government of India under the Indian Technical and Economic Co-operation programme is offering two training courses for the year 2005-2006.
Application forms are available from Gale Beazer at the New Administration Building of the Barbuda Council. Completed forms must be returned by 31 August 2005.
The Barbuda Council has withdrawn its approval for the Haylandale Hotel development at Palmetto Point. Lincoln Burton reported that an environmental study had shown that the development would adversely affect the environment of the area.

The new secondary school at Indigo, to the east of the well, will be finished soon. The buildings are being painted and shortly the area will be landscaped and fenced.
The photo above left shows the cistern in the foreground, with the industrial arts block in the left background and the administration block with the principal's office and staff room to the right. A cafeteria will be built on top of the cistern.
The photo above right shows the block for the computer labs, visual aids centre (library), science labs, and home economics centre. The students' bathrooms are in the foreground.

The Teenage Girls' Club of the Wesleyan Holiness Church will be hosting the concert of the year. Performing will be

The concert begins at 7 pm at the Wesleyan Holiness Church. Tickets for adults cost $10 and $5 for children 5 years and over. Proceeds are for the Teenage Girls' summer camp.
The newly employed Land Registration Officer will be visiting each residence and business to determine the ownership of homes, businesses, and other structures. The officer will also determine the registration status of land. Click here for more information about the survey.

Lt Col Clyde Walker, the Chief Immigration Officer of Antigua and Barbuda, opened the new office at Madison Square to the west of Burton's Depot. The ceremony was attended by Trevor Walker, the parliamentary representative, members of the Barbuda Council, officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, and immigration officers. The office will be staffed by Barbudans who have been trained in Antigua. Lt Col Walker, a Barbudan himself, made special mention of Hildena Gore and Rhyser Harris, who had trained at the airport, seaport, and at headquarters.
Social Security has moved from the premises shared with the Immigration Office across from the Barbuda Pentecostal Church. Social Security is now on the west side, downstairs, at the New Administration Office.
