New Teacher Training Programme

31 October 2011

The Ministry of Education has begun a new teacher training programme in Barbuda. Director of Education, Jacintha Pringle said that this was a part of the Ministry's mission to have every teacher in Antigua and Barbuda trained by 2013. The training will take place at Sir McChesney George Secondary school and is intended in the first instance to train up to eight teachers on a part-time programme spread over a two year period.

This is a positive step for Barbudan teachers who may now become qualified in Barbuda, recognising the difficulties that existed in the past with travel to and from Antigua. The programme will be co-ordinated by Violet Lake.
