In May and June 2004 we presented an interview with Griff Walker, a Barbudan who lives and works on the island. We outlined details of the school Griff attended, his employment and present business interests. We also included a photograph.
I am 30 years old. I was born under the sign of Aquarius on 8 February 1974.
I was born in Barbuda and attended the Holy Trinity School until I was 19 years old. I have always lived and worked in Barbuda.
My first job was maintenance and repair work at The K Club. Afterwards I worked as a builder.
In 1997 I started to work for CTV as an installer of their satelite television system. I put up the dishes and set up the decoder boxes and the TV sets. We were trained in Antigua and here in Barbuda. It is my main full-time job still.
Yes, I have a bike supplies and repair shop. I have an extensive stock of accessories and parts while I repair and maintain bikes at very reasonable prices. In fact I repair your family's bikes. It is my own business which I have run for 5 years now. This was a result of an interest in bikes since childhood. I always enjoyed customising and repairing my own bikes.
I have mountain bikes for hire, for adults only at the moment, but I will be getting some bikes for children. I enjoy cycling and I will take visitors on short or long rides to explore the beaches and the interior of Barbuda. My charges vary depending on the length of the ride. I feature on the transport page of this website and I can be contacted by email.
Bikes obviously, but I play cricket and do weight training in the nearby gym.
I would say believe in yourself. You must be honest. I always provide good quality work of a high standard. I feel that if you do good, good will follow you.
